One link to freeze or unfreeze credit at all three bureaus

Send it under your name when an application comes back frozen or a breach notice goes out. People follow it on their phone, one bureau at a time, and a temporary unfreeze turns back on by itself.

No integration and nothing to install. We never see a Social Security number. Not affiliated with Equifax, TransUnion or Experian.

A freeze blocks new credit, including the loan someone is applying for.

Mortgage, auto and card applications come back frozen every day. Staff call, text and remind the borrower to unfreeze at three bureaus, and the approval waits.

Send one link at pre-approval or the point of sale instead. The borrower lifts each freeze for the days you need, the application runs, and each freeze turns back on by itself.

“While a credit freeze is in place, nobody can open a new credit account in your name, including you.”

Why people freeze in the first place

406,110 reports to the FTC in 2024 of a new credit card opened in someone else's name. Credit card fraud was the most reported kind of identity theft that year.

60,188 reports in the same year of an auto loan or lease taken out in someone else's name.

That is why breach response firms, employers and credit unions send the same guide the other way: to get people frozen.

Who sends it, and when

The same guide at a different moment. Pick the link type that fits, and the guide uses your wording for it.

  • Mortgage lenders and brokers

The moment: The file comes back frozen before the credit pull. The borrower lifts each freeze for the days you set, and it turns back on by itself.

    The link: Temporary unfreeze

  • Auto dealers and lenders

The moment: At the finance desk, from a QR code on the desk or a text, the buyer unfreezes the bureaus your lenders pull.

The link: Unfreeze or temporary unfreeze

  • Breach response

The moment: Everyone on the notice gets a page with your name and the incident details, behind a link or a QR code on the letter.

    The link: Freeze

  • Employers and HR

The moment: A freeze guide for new hires, or for every employee after a breach that touched their records.

    The link: Freeze

  • Credit unions and banks

The moment: Identity protection for members and customers, after a notice or as a standing link in online banking.

The link: Freeze, unfreeze or both

  • Property managers and landlords

The moment: When a screening service asks an applicant to lift a freeze, or as a protection step in the welcome packet.

The link: Temporary unfreeze or freeze

Three fictional businesses. Switch between them and the same guide takes each one's logo and color, the way it will take yours.

A borrower's file came back frozen. They lift each freeze for 14 days so the lender can pull their credit, and it turns back on by itself.

From a new account to a sent link

Everything happens in your console and on the person's phone. Nothing connects to your systems.

  1. 1

    Create a link

Freeze, unfreeze or a temporary unfreeze. Choose the bureaus, their order and how the guide reads. Your logo and color are already on it.
  2. 2

Send it the way you already reach people

Copy the link, copy it as a text message to send from your own phone or system, or print the QR poster for a desk, a mailer or a lease packet.
  3. 3

They follow it on their phone

One bureau at a time, on each bureau's own website. No account to create and nothing to install.
  4. 4

    See who finished

Visits, people and completions per link, QR scans against direct visits, and the problems people report at each bureau. Completions are self-reported.

Questions before you start

Something else? Ask us.

What does it cost?
Plans and prices are on the pricing page. For the people you send, freezing and unfreezing at the bureaus is free under federal law.
What do the people we send have to give you?
Nothing. The guide is anonymous: no account, no name, no email address. They type their details only into each bureau's own website, which opens in a new tab.
How do we know someone actually froze or unfroze?
Each person confirms every bureau in the guide as they finish it, and that is what your analytics count. It is self-reported: the bureaus do not tell anyone. In lending, your own credit pull shows whether a file is open.
Do lenders not already have ways to lift a freeze?
Some bureaus sell lenders their own in-application unfreeze tools. ColdCredit is a different path: your applicant lifts their own freeze at all three bureaus, guided, under your name, with no integration on your side.
Can it carry our branding?
Yes. Your logo, brand color and favicon, your own heading and wording, the bureaus you choose in the order you choose, and an optional button that sends people back to your site when they finish.
Are you connected to the credit bureaus?
No. ColdCredit is not affiliated with Equifax, TransUnion or Experian. People freeze and unfreeze on each bureau's own website, and the guide walks them there and back.
How do we get started?
We are onboarding businesses directly while self-serve sign-up opens. Tell us about your business and we will set up your account with you.
Can we pay by invoice?
Our team can set up invoice billing for your account. Contact us and say how you would like to pay.
